All landfills are not the same. They are classified into ‘Types’ by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality based on the way in which waste and debris is processed at each site. As this implies, not all waste is the same, and the Commission has set forth rules regarding the way in which different types of waste must be processed as well. Thus, the contents of each dumpster determines which landfill GSS will use for disposal of each load. This in turn affects the cost of renting a roll off dumpster.
Type I landfills accept most non-hazardous municipal solid waste which includes household garbage as well as any sort of waste accepted at Type IV landfills. Type I landfills are compacted and covered daily in an effort to control unpleasant odors as much as possible. Conversely, Type IV landfills accept only construction and demolition debris, brush, ‘rubbish’ and other non-hazardous, non-putrescible waste*. Meaning, no typical ‘household waste’. These landfills are covered weekly since the waste dumped at these facilities doesn’t typically cause strong, foul odor.
As you can see, the type of garbage in each dumpster determines which landfill GSS will use to dispose of the contents of the container. Most of our customers use our dumpsters for projects such as new construction, remodeling, junk removal, estate cleanup and things along those lines. Therefore, our initial price quotes are based on the assumption that we will dispose of the contents of the dumpster at a Type IV landfill. But with prior notification, we can accept other types of waste to be dumped at a Type I landfill. Our goal is to accommodate the needs of our customers and provide exceptional customer service.
So when you’re ready to rent one of our containers, please be patient with our questions. We want to get as much information as possible so we can give you an accurate quote and avoid any surprises at the landfill. This will save us all time and money and allow GSS to continue to provide the most affordable dumpster rental (https://www.gssdumpsters.com/roll-off-dumpster-rentals/) prices around.
Hopefully this post has helped potential customers understand our pricing and terms a little bit better. Communication is the key and we can work with you if we know what we’re dealing with before your dumpster is delivered to your site.
